Kevin’s Cards Brochure

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

A new brochure for Kevin’s Cards is officially under development!

This will give you more information about my website and see some paintings from previous years! Plus, it’ll give me a chance to spread the word so that people will get a chance to see my art and maybe order some cards!

This project will take several weeks to develop and hopefully it’ll be a great advertisement for Kevin’s Cards!

2019 Paintings

A lot of people have been complaining that I haven’t been painting and creating new greeting cards out of them! Well, luckily the wait is finally over because the paintings are back!

For the first time since 2017, I’ll be taking another painting class at Laney College and create new paintings using water color paints instead of acrylic, which I usually use.

Even though it’s a different material, it’ll give me a challenge to try a different technique of painting, while still being able to create my own ideas in the style of Bob Ross. All of them will be uploaded on the website sometime within the next few months and will also be created into the next set of greeting cards.

I hope that these paintings and cards will sell like hotcakes, especially at Artist Alley at the Alameda County Fair!

Washington DC Tour

Where in the world is Kevin’s Cards?

As mentioned in a previous blog, I mentioned a list of my top places to travel to. Luckily, I’ll be going to one of those places next week: Washington DC.

My tour will be from January 11 – January 19 and I’ll be staying at my Uncle Noel’s house in Ashburn, VA which is about an hour west of DC, and that’s where I stayed on my last visit when I surprised my Aunt Malyn and cousin Brianna.

In addition to revisiting the places I saw last time, I also plan to visit some new places I didn’t get a chance to see such as Alexandria, VA and some major universities. You never know what I’ll uncover during my tour!

There will be daily blogs on all the places that I see, so stay tuned on my Washington DC Tour!

Two Years with Kevin’s Cards

This month marks two years of Kevin’s Cards!

The idea began after the passing of my grandfather, Honesto Tria in 2016, where the God Bless painting was transformed into custom-made sympathy cards to honor his legacy!

Since then, a lot of my best paintings have been made into greeting cards for all occasions and I’ve been selling them at different shows such as Artist Alley at the Alameda County Fair, and also gave them away to people who couldn’t afford to buy them.

This year, the cards have been updated with the new logo I created last year to replace my original picture and it turned out to be a better fit!

Since the holiday season is right around the corner, there will be new Christmas cards coming soon to send to loved ones!

As 2018 winds down and 2019 begins, I hope to create new projects and who knows what art show will Kevin’s Cards showcase next!

Logo Anniversary/PIA Card Sale

Today marks the one year anniversary of the Kevin’s Cards logo!

It was created in my graphic arts class at Laney College using inDesign. The design is a replication of a open greeting card with the initials K & C, although some people might refer it to as Kansas City.

This logo is used on all the new set of greeting cards and business cards, which is why the cards look better than the original ones. It also made its debut at last year’s PIA Card Sale.

Speaking of which, Kevin’s Cards will be returning to Philippine International Aid (PIA) this Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in San Francisco from 10 AM – 4 PM.

Here are some reminders of event in case you plan on going:

-Boutique Sale is Free Admission

-Luncheon/Fashion Show is $150

-Cards will sell for $1 Each or 6 for $5

This is a ONE DAY ONLY EVENT, so make sure you tell all your friends, relatives, neighbors, and colleagues because you don’t want to miss this! Hope to see you there!

2018 PIA Card Sale

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!

Anyone who hasn’t got a chance to buy cards from me at my past card sales, here’s your opportunity because Kevin’s Cards will be returning to the Philippine International Aid (PIA) on November 18 at the Hyatt Embarcadero Grand Ballroom in San Francisco.

For those who don’t know what it is, they have a bazaar, which is like a boutique sale, in which different vendors from the Philippines sell their products from home goods, specialty foods, and even travel information to the Philippines. They also hold a luncheon and fashion show, and they raise money to help the poor children live a better life.

The bazaar sale will begin at 10 AM, and that has free admission to get into; while the luncheon/fashion show will begin at 12 NOON, which costs $150 for a ticket.

Be sure to tell all your friends, neighbors, relatives, and colleagues to stop by because this is a one day only sale and it’ll be the perfect opportunity to buy cards in time for the holiday season!

More details will be announced later on, so hope to see you there!

New Designs/Kevin’s Cards Calendars/Discontinued Giveaways

With a new semester under belt at Laney College, my plan is to create new designs while learning new techniques at the same time in typography and elements of graphic arts.

In the past, I’ve done some with TV, sports, and even some from Kevin’s Cards. So, why should this year be any different? It’s time to shake things up a little bit! In addition to revisiting previous designs, I also plan to update them in any imaginable way as possible.

Also, I want find other ways to use my paintings in addition to my cards. For example, I have created a new Kevin’s Cards Calendar for 2019, which was requested by Melanie Johnston’s mom at Artist Alley. This was one of the projects I had in mind since starting graphic arts and this is a great way for people to see some of my previous paintings. Of course, the cards will keep on rolling since it is one of the best sellers!

As with selling my cards, there will no longer be free giveaways starting today, which means people will now have to buy my cards. Luckily, the prices of the cards will remain the same:

$1 Each

6 for $5

Although someone requested that I should sell my cards on Etsy, it could be a consideration, but will take some time to set up!

As I begin to create and develop these projects, who knows what will be the best seller!

Art Night/Treasurefest

A lot of people have been complaining that I haven’t painted since I’ve been more focused on my graphic arts and creating projects with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Well, the wait is finally over! As it turns out, there will be new paintings for 2018 that will be transformed into the next set of greeting cards!

During the art & wine festivals I’ve attended, I’ve been searching for artists to collaborate with and also potential paint nights to attend. Last night was the perfect opportunity for me because I attended an art night hosted by my friend from uCamps, Valerie Herman.

After hearing an advertisement about it, I knew this was my only chance to get back into my painting mode. Even though it was just the two of us, it was totally worth it because we were able to collaborate our thoughts with each other while being able to create our own styles at the same time!

The paintings I created were reviews of previous paintings I’ve done, only this time it was in a smaller 8×10″ canvas as opposed to the original 16×20″ because of time and I felt that the smaller size would be a better sell.

These paintings will be uploaded sometime this year and who knows which one will be the best seller!

Today, I returned to Treasurefest after missing last month due to preparations for Artist Alley.

The biggest surprise was that Linda Cullen actually created bottlecaps with the Kevin’s Cards logo and one of my paintings, which was something I totally didn’t expect!

Even though I did plan to find other ways to use my paintings, I felt that Linda definitely influenced my art in a great way! Plus I didn’t think the paintings were going to fit in the bottle cap in the first place, but I’m glad she was able to find a way to make it fit!

As for the entire festival, it was the same as past sales as I figured it was going to be, with the exception of some new booths as well! As I continue to explore more art & wine festivals, who knows what I’ll uncover next!

Artist Alley Day 4/Price Reduction

Yesterday’s card sale was a little slow to start, but I did manage to get more sales including one lady from the UK and another two paintings sold from my former Artist Alley manager Melanie Johnston, and an old classmate from school. As I mentioned before, it’s usually slow during the first part, but crowds really fly in during the late afternoon and early evening hours!

Even though this is already one of the best sales I’ve had so far, I’m hoping for a great finish with two days left! Those of you who haven’t stopped by yet and bought anything, here’s your opportunity because the prices of the paintings have been reduced!

LARGE- $15

SMALL- $10

The prices of the cards will remain the same, since they are one of the best sellers so far! Make sure you get a chance to stop by and tell all your friends and relatives as well because you don’t want to miss out on this great opportunity!

Happy 4th of July/Artist Alley Opening

Hope everyone has a great 4th of July! Thank you to all our men and women for serving our great country!

Plus, for the first time, the new Kevin’s Cards logo, business cards, and posters will make their debut, so you can see another artistic side of me and so that more people can contact me to order more cards.

As an added bonus, the posters I created with TV Nostalgia, Video Games, Fast Food, and more will be showcased in a photo slideshow, so some of your childhood memories will be brought back to life!
