A lot of people have been complaining that I haven’t painted since I’ve been more focused on my graphic arts and creating projects with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Well, the wait is finally over! As it turns out, there will be new paintings for 2018 that will be transformed into the next set of greeting cards!
During the art & wine festivals I’ve attended, I’ve been searching for artists to collaborate with and also potential paint nights to attend. Last night was the perfect opportunity for me because I attended an art night hosted by my friend from uCamps, Valerie Herman.
After hearing an advertisement about it, I knew this was my only chance to get back into my painting mode. Even though it was just the two of us, it was totally worth it because we were able to collaborate our thoughts with each other while being able to create our own styles at the same time!
The paintings I created were reviews of previous paintings I’ve done, only this time it was in a smaller 8×10″ canvas as opposed to the original 16×20″ because of time and I felt that the smaller size would be a better sell.
These paintings will be uploaded sometime this year and who knows which one will be the best seller!
Today, I returned to Treasurefest after missing last month due to preparations for Artist Alley.
The biggest surprise was that Linda Cullen actually created bottlecaps with the Kevin’s Cards logo and one of my paintings, which was something I totally didn’t expect!
Even though I did plan to find other ways to use my paintings, I felt that Linda definitely influenced my art in a great way! Plus I didn’t think the paintings were going to fit in the bottle cap in the first place, but I’m glad she was able to find a way to make it fit!
As for the entire festival, it was the same as past sales as I figured it was going to be, with the exception of some new booths as well! As I continue to explore more art & wine festivals, who knows what I’ll uncover next!
