The “Road to Summer” Sale got off to a good start!
Right out of gate, I was interviewed by Caitlin, who’s an intern for the Alameda’s County Fair’s Instagram account, which was then posted on Instagram to help promote my booth. I also posted another reel reading Melanie Johnston’s quote from my book because if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be doing at Artist Alley. Then, it got slow, but was able to sell a few cards.
During my lunch break in the afternoon, I got a phone call from one of my volunteers stating that someone else was buying cards. I immediately ran to the booth to help her out. Then, another customer bought cards and a friend from high school bought cards, a calendar, and a copy of From Painting to Card. This was officially the first time I sold one of my books on the first day of my sale!
As the sale continues, I hope to get a lot more people to come now that I have my interview on Instagram and you never know what surprises will be in store!
