Kevin’s Cards will be doing live painting demos during the 2023 Alameda County Fair. Today, I had a meeting with fair employee Michele Plunge to finalize the schedule and choose the paintings I’ll do.
Originally, I had planned to do it for four days. However, there was a slight misunderstanding, so I decided to only do it for two days since it was a better option. It will take place on June 24 and 25, which is when my grandfather, Honesto Tria ended up in hospice care. This will also be a nice tribute since he had an opportunity to watch me paint during my first year in 2016.
Here’s the full schedule of the paintings I’ll be demonstrating and the times:
June 24
1 PM- “Summer Camp”
3 PM- “Sunset Sky Ride”
June 25
1 PM- “Tropical Sunset”
3 PM- “Alameda County Fair Logo”
All the demos will take place in Building C and will run from 1 – 4 pm. A lot of people have asked me why I don’t live demos in my booth. Back in 2016, this ran into a lot of issues such as set-up and clean-up, getting people to watch, figuring out what to say, and the weather can be unpredictable. Since then, I mainly stuck with selling my work. Doing it indoors is a better option since I can get more people to watch.
This will be a promo leading to the Kevin’s Cards “Summer Vibes” Sale during the last week of the fair. Be sure to tell all your friends, relatives, neighbors, and colleagues to stop by because you don’t want to miss out on this!
Hope to see you there!
