The last Word Series win for the Red Sox was five years ago in 2013 when they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals. As for the Dodgers, their last win was 30 years ago in 1988 against the Oakland Athletics. They had an opportunity to win last year, but fell short to the Houston Astros.
